Stealing a cement mixer and a compressor landed a St. David's man with a $2,000 fine in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Steven McCallan, 33, admitted stealing a compressor from Standard Hardware on March 3 and a cement mixer from SAL on March 26.

McCallan stole the items with the help of another man who failed to appear in Court. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

McCallan told the Court: "Everything that was taken was returned ? I have a decent job now that I would like to hold and ask for leniency so I can keep it."

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves fined McCallan $1,000 for stealing the compressor and $1,000 for stealing the cement mixer.
