Autopsies expected to be performed today should help Police determine the cause of death of a couple found in a car in a west end beauty spot yesterday morning.

Larry Trott, 45, and Lynn Fubler, 35, both of Factory Lane, Pembroke, were found dead in a white Toyota Corolla car by a female jogger at around 8.20 a.m. as she ran through Lagoon Park on Ireland Island South with her dog. It is believed the couple died in a suicide pact but Police have not yet ruled out foul play. Police spokesman Dwayne Caines said: "Circumstances surrounding the deaths are unknown at this time."

The car was found in a small clearing off Craddock Road just behind the Lagoon Park Pre-School and 50 yards from a secluded beach.

Mr. Trott, who has children, was a self-employed masonry contractor. Ms Fubler worked at Gibbons Company and was educated at Berkeley Institute. A schoolmate told The Royal Gazette: "She was a nice person and a hard worker. When I saw her about a year and a half ago she said she was getting married."

Yesterday Police took witness statements from school staff and Government Pathologist Dr. John Obafunwa spent several hours at the scene before the bodies were removed and the car towed away. The investigation is being headed up by Chief Inspector Earl Kirby of the Serious Crime Unit and Dr. Obafunwa.

Postman Andre Scott, who was at the scene, said the car must have been driven to the spot recently because he had not noticed it when passing on his route the previous day.

He said: "I am really shocked. People use this trail as a short cut to the bus stop."

The macabre finding is the second in the park in the last year. The decomposed body of American visitor Stanley Lee, 41, was found hidden in the bushes of Lagoon Park in August - around 400 feet from where the couple were found. Three men have been charged with his murder.

One Boaz Island resident told The Royal Gazette: "Nobody really walks around this area alone, it's too dark and too lonely so we don't go through.

"I won't walk around this area by myself but people do park and eat out here especially in the summer."
