Cox to lead delegation to Fiji conference
Finance Minister Paula Cox will lead a delegation of Parliamentarians and the clerk to the Legislature to the 51st Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Conference in Nadi, Fiji next week.
The Bermuda delegation will comprise Speaker of the House Stanley Lowe and UBP MP Wayne Furbert. Shernette Wolffe will attend as delegation secretary and attend the Commonwealth Society of Clerks at the Table Conference as well.
Delegates will attend workshops on a variety of topics including, "Fair Trade for Small Countries in a Global Market" and "How small countries will be impacted by Natural Disasters and Global Warming".
Dame Jennifer Smith will arrive ahead of the delegation to attend the CPA Executive Committee Meeting which will be held on September 1. Dame Jennifer is a member of the CPA International Executive Committee. The conference will be held through September 10.
