A woman told yesterday how she saw her husband stabbed twice in the back by her knife-wielding brother.

Edwina Millwood said Edwin Wolffe told her husband as he lay on the ground: ?I?m going to kill you.??

Several friends and neighbours witnessed the fight in the yard, Mrs. Millwood testified.

The Supreme Court heard Wolffe had earlier stabbed Presley Millwood multiple times during a lengthy fight.

Wolffe, of Spruce Lane, Warwick, is accused of wounding Mr. Millwood with the intention of causing grievous bodily harm in a fight last year over a disputed debt the Millwoods owed Wolffe.

Yesterday?s hearing was marked by a shouting match between 28-year-old Wolffe, who is representing himself, and his sister. Chief Justice Richard Ground was eventually forced to break it up.

The argument erupted during Wolffe?s cross-examination of his sister. Mrs. Millwood, a prosecution witness, had just testified that Wolffe had stabbed her husband in a fight at the Millwoods? home at Fentons Drive, Pembroke.

Starting his cross examination, Wolffe asked: ?Do you love your husband, Edwina??

Wolffe quickly began accusing his sister of infidelity. Mrs. Millwood in turn told the defendant that his wife was cheating on him, and the argument escalated.

As voices were raised, Mr. Justice Ground told the pair not to speak at the same time.

Wolffe began questioning his sister again, asking about a $900 debt her husband owed him for work done for his company, Millwood Maintenance and Construction, the week before the stabbing.

Another argument between the pair ensued over who was owed money. ?Stop shouting,? Mr. Justice Ground said, ending Wolffe?s cross-examination. ?Will you both be quiet.?

Earlier, Mrs. Millwood told the court that her brother had come to her home in the evening to pick up his pay cheque. They soon began arguing over who was owed money, she said, and her brother began pushing her out of the bedroom where they were standing.

The siblings? cousin, Wynette Wolffe, told the court she heard the argument.

?He (Wolffe) yelled that if he didn?t get the money he would mess up their jeep,? she said. ?Edwina told him if he wanted to hit anything, to hit her, and he began pushing her down the hall way towards the front door.?

Miss Wolffe said that Wolffe picked up a pink tricycle and threw it at Mr. Millwood who was behind him in the bedroom.

She added Wolffe then picked up a knife from the kitchen table, and he and Mr. Millwood rushed outside.

A lengthy fight ensued, during which Wolffe stabbed Mr. Millwood multiple times. Mrs. Millwood told the court: ?I saw my husband running up the hill to get to the car. He was so weak that he fell to the ground and my brother went to him and stabbed him twice in the back. While he was stabbing him he said ?I?m going to kill you?.?

The trial continues today, with Crown counsel Oonagh Vaucrosson calling the final prosecution witnesses. Wolffe was re-released on bail.
