A stark warning was sent out to cruise ship passengers arriving in Bermuda after 15 US visitors were fined for importation of cannabis in Magistrates' Court last week.

All the passengers pleaded guilty, opting to have their cases heard during the plea court session rather than in Supreme Court. They were all fined $1,000.

Crown counsel Cindy Clarke shot off the names and the charges for each passenger and Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves said that the "message is clear" about bringing drugs to Bermuda.

Antonio Martin Butterworth, 42, of New Jersey was caught on June 7 aboard the Horizon with 1.76 grams of cannabis.

Leonard Cerzosie, 24, of New York was found with 1.07 grams of cannabis when the Norwegian Majesty was in St. George's on June 8.

Also found with cannabis on the Norwegian Majesty on June 8 was Paul Chase, 50, of Massachusetts who had 4.29 grams of cannabis.

Harry Mathias, 38, of Massachusetts was found with seven grams of cannabis.

Wayne McDonald, 45, of Massachusetts was found with 3.56 grams of cannabis.

Craig Foley, 37, of Massachusetts was found with 1.47 grams of cannabis.

Kenneth Salvato, 33, of Massachusetts was found with 2.69 grams of cannabis.

On the same day Paul Dennehy, 36, of Massachusetts was on the Norwegian Majesty when he was found with 1.74 grams of cannabis. Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves told Dennehy he should have been drinking Dark and Stormys instead.

And Roberta Palingo, 47, of Massachusetts had 2.07 grams of cannabis.

On June 7, Lucas Lyons, 21, and his father Matthew Lyons, 46, of New Jersey were found with cannabis on the Horizon. The son was found with 4.82 grams and his father was found with 20.52 grams of cannabis.

Thomas McKeown, 45, of Philadelphia was on the Horizon on June 7 when he was found with 0.67 grams of cannabis.

Also found with cannabis on the Horizon on June 7 was Charles Schmidt, 54, of New Jersey. He had 1.81 grams of cannabis.

Claire Sooy, 52, of New Jersey was found with .62 grams of cannabis on the Horizon on June 8.

Lauren Danielle Nickolas said "I'm really, really sorry", after she was found with 9.92 grams of cannabis, 0.7 grams of cocaine, one tablet of amphetamine and one tablet of alprazolam commonly known as Xanax. She was on the Norwegian Majesty when the drugs were found on June 8.
