Stamp collectors can look forward to adding another set of first day covers to their collection with the release of a series of stamps featuring paintings by Robert Bassett.

The series, produced by the Bermuda Post Office, marks the one-hundredth year of Cup Match.

The stamps feature the Cup Match colours, and consists of 35 cent and $1.00 stamps, a souvenir sheet, and an official First Day Cover. The booklet costs $2.50 and the sets cost 70 cents each.

“This collection continues the Bermuda Post Office's efforts to portray all facets of Bermuda's heritage, culture and history,” said Yvonne Smith, coordinator of Philatelic Services.

Mrs. Sheila Semos provided the designs and Ira Philip wrote the historical review of Cup Match 2000. The stamps are available from July 4 at the Bermuda Philatelic Bureau in Hamilton and at all of the Island's Post Offices.
