A burst pipe caused extensive water damage and flooding to the Crisson's store on Queen Street at the weekend forcing its temporary closure until Friday.

President Peter Crisson said that staff discovered the problem when they arrived for work on Monday morning.

Mr. Crisson said significant work had already begun with repairs to the ceiling, carpets and furnishings.

He said the damage caused by the flooding could exceed $10,000, which may have been caused by a deterioration of the pipe.

The other nine Crisson's outlets are running normally, he said.
