Two teenagers have been released on Police bail after being probed for making death threats against Premier Jennifer Smith.

Police have refused to comment about the case although The Royal Gazette understands the male and female suspects made the threats to a third party early last month.

Police were then alerted and the two were picked up. The threat turned out to be a prank although it was taken seriously at the time.

It is understood authorities are still assessing whether to charge the pair who are in their late teens.

Government media spokeswoman Valerie Pethen said: “The Premier knows about it and it is in the hands of the Police.

“We don't have any comment except she is happy with the way the Police are dealing with it. I don't have any details.”
