A dinghy with two people on board capsized off Spanish Point yesterday. Harbour Radio said the incident happened at about 1.20 p.m. near Hogfish Beacon.

Marine Police were called to help the boat amid windy conditions.A spokesman said the two people had life-jackets on, and Police had confirmed the crew were safe.

Meanwhile, a yacht taking part in the Caribbean 1500 Rally from Hampton in Virginia to the British Virgin Isles is heading for Bermuda after suffering mechanical failure at sea.

The 32ft vessel Grace is reported to be making its way towards the Island after suffering engine and rigging failure.
