Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves dealt a heavy hand of discipline when he ordered several men caught driving while disqualified to cough up a total of $5,000 in fines.

And Mr. Greaves told the four men who appeared before him yesterday in Magistrates' Court , that their constant disrespect for the law would not stand in the way of his train of justice.

Each man appeared before Mr. Greaves to answer to the charge separately.

Jahma Charles, 26, of Lusher Lane, Sandys, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified on August 19 and was fined $1,000.

Micha Hollis also pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified. Hollis, 25, of Bridge Lane, Sandys Parish was stopped on August 16, on Glebe Road, Pembroke and was fined $1,000.

Colin Simons, 41, of White Hill Sandys, was caught on Harbour Road on August 14. Simons was fined $1,000 for the offence.

And Christopher Smith of Spice Hill Road Warwick, was fined $2,000 for the offence of driving while disqualified and driving under the influence on June 12, 2000. Smith, 26, was fined $1,000 for each offence.

Mr. Greaves gave Smith and additional 12 months off the road, which was added to his already year-long disqualification.

Mr. Greaves said: "Man, when you come back on the road you will be driving space crafts."

Mr. Greaves told the men to pay immediately or each spend 100 days in Westgate Correctional Facility.
