A Dockyard ceremony at 5 p.m. tonight will officially launch the visit to the Island by the Freedom Schooner Amistad.

The event will feature presentations about Amistad's history by Premier Alex Scott, Gombey dancing and other forms of entertainment.

The ship's captain, Eliza Garfield, said that the event "is supposed to be very festive".

To get your chance at seeing and learning more about the historical vessel, it will be at the Dockyard port until the latter part of the week.
