Opposition Tourism spokesman David Dodwell has joined forces with a foreign firm to take over the running of Daniel?s Head.

Government will reveal the details of lease in Parliament today. The tented village in Sandys has been closed since 2002 and is now a site for squatters.

Tourism Minister Renee Webb said Mr. Dodwell had joined up with Urban Associates and it will remain a tourist resort. She said the consortium was trying to get a new source of financing after the previous one fell through.

Ms Webb said Government was in contact with potential developers for the old Club Med resort in the east end on weekly basis.

?They are working out their finances. We are still tweaking it.?

She said Government was not happy with the plans for 100 houses there but wanted a smaller number. ?The hotel will be built first. There is going to be a housing component. It?s still too high for us.?
