Not much has changed at the Berkeley site since Pro-Active left, though the site has been prepared for major work.

Members of the Press were due to be given a site tour of the new senior secondary school yesterday by Works and Engineering Minister Ashfield DeVent.

Though Mr. DeVent was not at the site yesterday, Works and Engineering personnel gave a guided tour of the project.

There are three major activities going on at the site right now, Works and Engineering construction manager Reginald Butterfield said.

Two firms ? Kaissa Limited and Innovative Mouldings ? are working on the roof of the building, making it watertight.

Meanwhile, Telford Electric is improving lighting at the site, and a clean-up crew has cleared and stacked equipment while reinforcing scaffolding and adding temporary handrails to make the site safer.

The total number of workers involved is around 40. Some are former Pro-Active unionised workers.

Government has been preparing construction packages to go out to tender and is looking for work to increase near the end of the month. However when asked when the project would be completed, Works and Engineering quality control inspector Colin Anderson said they could not answer, as they did not know when it would start again.

The crews came in shortly after Pro-Active left. Much of Pro-Active?s equipment has been cleared off the site, though a few items remain, Mr. Butterfield said. ?They will be subject to deliberations between Pro-Active, UAH (Union Assets Holding), and the Ministry of Works and Engineering.?
