A group helping charities to put together better business plans was launched on Friday.

The Donor Forum plans to bring groups together that donate to charities so that they can pool their collective expertise, said Director and Secretary of The Bank of Bermuda Foundation, David Lang.

He said: "We find that many deserving charities are sometimes not getting the financial yield they are looking for because they don't know how to present the necessary proposal budget."

The founding members are The ACE Foundation, Bacardi International, The Bank of Bermuda Foundation, The Bermuda Electric Light Company, The Bermuda Telephone Company, Cable & Wireless, Centre Solutions, Commercial Risk, Fidelity Foundation, Partner Re, Renaissance Re, Tyco International Ltd., and the Excel Foundation.

The Donor Foundation is inviting other interested members of Bermuda's corporate donor community to join them for a symposium on June 19 between 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
