Drivers injured in spate of accidents

Police and Fire had a busy weekend dealing with 33 road accidents, including ten which resulted in injury.

A 43-year-old woman passenger in a car suffered a shoulder and back injuries in a three vehicle crash at 1.30 a.m. at the junction of Dundonald Street and Union Street in Hamilton.

A 26-year-old car driver suffered a back injury when he was in collision with another car at the junction of Chapel Road and Middle Road in Paget on Friday evening.

A 38-year-old tourist who came off her bike at Mangrove Bay, Somerset, on Sunday afternoon received an injury to her elbow.

At Roberts Avenue and Palmetto Road, Pembroke, a 30-year-old man broke his ankle after coming off his bike on Sunday afternoon.

And a man suffered a suspected broken leg after crashing his bike at North Shore Road, Bailey's Bay, on Sunday afternoon.

Police were pleased to report that only one person was stopped over the weekend for impaired driving.
