Eggs thrown at homes, vehicles

Police were kept busy last night with Halloween-related calls, although a spokesman said that the problems were no worse than last year.

Officers had attended around 30 incidents as The Royal Gazette went to press, most of which involved eggs being thrown at homes and vehicles. The problems were said to have been mainly in the Pembroke and Hamilton parishes. One call to Police stated that a large crowd of youths, numbering 50 to 75, had gathered in the Middle Town area of Pembroke, and that there may be wilful damage to a motorcycle taking place. Nothing untoward was found when officers checked out the call.

Another report said that 25 youths had gathered in Hamilton parish at the junction of North Shore Road and Aubrey Road.
