Elderly tourist dies after being pulled from hotel pool

A 76-year old tourist was pronounced dead after being pulled from a pool at the Elbow Beach Hotel.

Alfred Ash, an American citizen, was removed from the pool in an unresponsive state around 3.30 p.m. on Tuesday. Paramedics performed CPR before transporting him to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Ash was pronounced dead by an on call physician upon arrival.

An autopsy is expected to take place but Police have said there appear to be no suspicious circumstances.

It is understood that Mr. Ash suffered from pre-existing medical conditions.

A Police spokesman said last night that it is yet to be determined whether this played a role in his death.
