One man was taken to the hospital on Saturday after fire engulfed the Karibuni Ltd. building in Sandys Parish.

The building on Somerset Road was completely engulfed in flames when Police and firefighters arrived on the scene around noon on Saturday.

Twelve firefighters in five trucks battled the blaze, while one male employee of Karibuni Ltd. was taken to the hospital for treatment after inhaling smoke.

Though a large crowd of onlookers did cause some traffic congestion, Police said there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.

Inquiries into this incident are underway.
