The 2003 Employment Survey of all employers and self-employed people is now in progress.

The survey is being conducted under the authority of the 2002 Statistics Act and response to it is mandatory.

Employers are reminded that they are to submit accurate and complete information, which should be returned to the Department of Statistics by Monday, September 29.

This year the survey reference week is from Sunday, August 31 to September 6, so employers must provide a snapshot of their employment profile as it was during that week.

A survey package has been mailed to employers and those businesses that have changed their mailing address since the 2002 survey, or who have not received a survey package, should contact the Department of Statistics immediately to update their mailing records.

Businesses that received a package but were not in operation during the reference week should mark the survey forms as directed by the survey instructions and return the forms in the enclosed envelope.

For personal assistance in completing the survey, visit the department on the third floor, Cedar Park Centre, 48 Cedar Avenue, Hamilton, or call on 297-7761, extension 1347, 1774 or 1652.
