Exotique shows are cancelled

Tourism Minister David Allen announced that, as a result of the terrorist attacks on the US, the Bermuda Live show by Exotique has been cancelled.

He said the impact of the disaster on visitor arrivals meant the show had to be disbanded.

"The recent attacks in the United States and the downturn in the economy, which has affected both air and cruise arrivals to Bermuda in the past two weeks, as well as projections through to the end of October, have forced us to reassess the Bermuda Live initiative," said Mr. Allen.

He said the show was playing on Mondays at Club Azure at Southside in St. David's, and at the Maritime Museum at the Royal Naval Dockyard on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

He added: "We remain fully supportive of our local talent and appreciate the efforts made by the Bermuda Live group to bring a fresh blend of entertainment to our visitors.

"I am hoping that in the foreseeable future, when the climate is right, we can revisit this whole subject of local entertainment as we remain convinced it is what our visitors want."
