Tammy Wilson, her five-year old daughter and her 19-year old son, will be turned out onto the streets today.

The mother, who has been struggling to find housing and a job since she and her family were evicted from her aunt?s home back in March, is determined to keep her family together and blames Government for the situation they are now in.

Her plight has been described several times in where she remained anonymous until now.

Appointed as a full-time caregiver to her aunt by another family member, Ms Wilson has not held a job for several months.

She was evicted from her Bermuda Housing Corporation home after she fell into arrears, and moved in to her aunt?s house with her daughter.

When her 19-year old son was forced to move in also, however, the family was ?understandably? evicted by the landlord for violating the terms of the lease.

Ever since, Ms Wilson has been locked in a struggle to find care for her aunt, as well as a job and a home for herself and her children. With the aunt placed in a rest home, Ms Wilson and her children have been bounced from guest house to guest house ? paid for by Financial Services ? for more than a month.

Financial Services does not find housing for people. Once a client has housing, the Department then assesses their need and offers monetary assistance based on that need.

However, Department head Dianna Taylor told last week, the Department sympathised with Ms Wilson and stepped in to pay for her rooms for a special 30-day period, giving her more time to get on her feet.

With that 30-day period up and her time at the guesthouse run out, Ms Wilson now faces not only homelessness but a lack of Government help until she can find herself a home and a job.

?I?ve put myself and my children in jeopardy,? she said.
