File your payroll tax - online

E-government, the use of the Internet to deliver and administer Government services, is on its way. First to come online will be the ability to pay taxes online and in real time, according to Tax Commissioner Heather Matthews.
Taxpayers will soon be able to file and pay their payroll taxes and land tax online and other taxes will be phased into the system later.
The e-tax system will also allow taxpayers to access previously filed returns and query their account balances. Mrs. Matthews said a pilot run would occur within the next two weeks and she hopes the system will be in limited operation by July. "By April next year, all taxpayers who want to file their taxes online should be able to do so."
