Flight forced to divert after passenger becomes abusive
A JetBlue flight on its way to New York City from Puerto Rico was diverted to Bermuda on Sunday night after a 28-year-old man became unruly.
The plane, which left San Juan at 7.50 p.m. on Sunday, was diverted to Bermuda when Cristobal Rivera Roman started behaving in an abusive manner with other passengers. He had to be restrained until the plane landed on the Island. Roman had reportedly been drinking very heavily.
The flight was met by several Police and Roman was arrested.
Police spokesman Dwayne Caines said yesterday that Roman had been discharged and was staying at a hotel before continuing his travels to the US. Mr. Caines said the Police were looking into whether or not Roman will be charged with any specific offence.
The plane went on to JFK Airport, leaving Bermuda at 11.40 p.m.
