Overseas fraudsters using faxes are trying to lure Bermuda businesses into shipping high value items without paying for them.

The latest ruse involves photocopies of credit cards and overseas passports with a request to buy pricey goods.

Police say the con artists are using forged or stolen credit cards. So far no one has been fooled but Police are warning merchants to maintain security checks to avoid losing out.
