Fuel prices rose for the third time in as many months yesterday.

The latest increase, announced by the Ministry of Finance, brings the cost of gas at the pumps to $5.64 per gallon. At the beginning of the year the price stood at $5.15 per gallon.

According to figures released by Government, gasoline rose by 5.6 cents a litre (21 cents a gallon), diesel went up by seven cents a litre (26.46 cents a gallon) and kerosene increased by 6.5 cents a litre (24.57 cents a gallon).

The increase, which takes effect immediately, means that gasoline now costs $5.64 per gallon, diesel costs $4.90 per gallon and kerosene costs $3.96 per gallon.
