Good news, bad news for owner of stolen car
The owner of a stolen car has been landed with the task of pulling it out of the ocean after it was spotted by a ferry boat pilot.
The Nissan Sentra, which was stolen last July, was reported to the Police as being in the water near Darrell?s Wharf, Harbour Road, Warwick, in a call at 5.05 p.m. on Saturday.
The Marine Police attended the scene and located the car, which appeared to have been underwater for some time. Harbour Radio has been notified to make sure that mariners know about the vehicle, which was ten to 15 feet under the surface when spotted. Police spokesman Robin Simmons said: ?We had put out some advisories before about a number of stolen vehicles and now this one has literally resurfaced. The owner has been identified and contacted, and it is up to them to make arrangements to take the vehicle out of the water.?
According to a Harbour Radio spokesperson, it is possible that seasonal low tides may be behind the car becoming visible at the weekend after having been underwater for some time.
