Government is looking to partner with a marketing firm to attract more African American visitors to Bermuda.
Former Tourism Minister David Allen launched the African Diaspora Trail, to point out the role the Island played in the trans-Atlantic slave trade from Africa to the United States and the Caribbean.
Tourism employed a marketing firm last year for that project and another to promote musical events such as the Neo-Soul festival.
But now the department is looking for a company to deal with an over-all marketing plan to attract African American visitors to the Island, said Director of Tourism Judith Hall-Bean.
A request for proposal for a marketing company was published in yesterday's Royal Gazette.
