An exhibition celebrating green achievers kicks off tonight at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute. The '2002 Heritage Exhibition' brings together a host of environmentalists who work directly or indirectly in tourism.

Being honoured are Island environmental warriors David Wingate, Stuart Hayward, Teddy Tucker, Ralph Richardson, Annie Glasspool, Jack Lightbourne, Lance Furbert, Jack Ward and Wolfgang Sterrer, to name a few. The exhibition is intended to highlight the environment's connection to tourism and is supported worldwide by the United Nations.

"The exhibition, in collaboration with BUEI, will utilise their already established collection of underwater treasures, and will feature professional photographs in architecture, birds, animals, flowers, railway trails, cedar trees, ponds, coves and the newly discovered Wilkinson Cave," said Geneva Humdy Woodley, the exhibition organiser.

The exhibition opens tonight at 6 and runs to the end of May.

The Department of Cultural Affairs and BUEI will offer 50 percent off for children and adults and free admission for senior citizens. Admission for adults is $9.75 and for children (ages 7-16) is $5.
