Loughlands Guest House in Paget is up for sale because owner Mary Pickles is going back to England.
Mrs. Pickles, who is originally from Cornwall, has owned the 26 room guest house for 30 years after buying it from the Outerbridge family.
She said: "I've been here for 30 years and I'm on my own now and it's time to go back home."
She said business had gone down since the September 11 terrorist attacks.
"That made a difference, but I don't advertise much because I don't want to get overwhelmed. But we get a lot of repeat people."
She said she had no idea if Loughlands would continue to be operated as a guest house after it is sold.
