The Bermuda Housing Corporation has stepped in and offered a single mother a temporary accommodation in Hamilton.

Salina Trott is being evicted by former Progressive Labour Party MP Delaey Robinson. On Tuesday Police were called to the Old Maid's Lane, St. George's property on Tuesday after Mr. Robinson tried to forcibly evict single mother Salina Trott and her mother.

Ms Trott was allowed to stay for another night in the tourist accommodation last night, while she packed their belongings.

The BHC was able to offer Ms Trott and her mother temporary accommodation for up to a year.

Last night Ms Trott was ecstatic about the move and she said it was convenient for her and her partially sighted mother, who works at Beacon House, on Cedar Avenue.

She said: "Mr. Robinson's wife explained to him that when I moved in here I finally thought that I could try to get my children back. He gave me a hug and gave me my $1,000 deposit back."

At the temporary accommodation the children can come and stay as well on weekends.

"I feel much better now," she said, "I couldn't think earlier, it was so much stress."
