Calling all girls ? the Hal Jackson Talented Teens Bermuda competition is offering you the chance to take a bite out of the Big Apple.

Girls between the ages of 13 and 17 are eligible to audition for the talent contest, to be held on May 15, at the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium.

The winning teen takes home a $1,000 educational scholarship and an all-expense-paid week in New York City provided by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. In addition to spending a week in the Big Apple, the winner will also have the chance to compete for the title of Miss Talented Teen International.

Former winners include actress Jada Pinkett Smith, recording artist CeCe Peniston and Broadway singer Sheryl Lee Ralph.

Auditions will be held at the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium on March 31, from 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. The auditions are only open to girls who have passing grades, are in regular attendance at school and are interested in performing.

Auditions will entail a two-minute talent presentation and an interview.

Participating girls should also bring a photocopy of their birth certificate and a portrait photograph.
