Horseshoe to buzz with sounds of Kite Festival
The annual Kite Festival is in the final stages of preparation ? it kicks off at 11 a.m. on Good Friday at Horseshoe Bay.
The event is being organised by Young United Bermuda, the youth wing of the United Bermuda Party. There will be prayers, performances, a fashion show and much more. The event will be hosted by Mr. Magic from Hott 107.5 and Senator Gina Spence Farmer.
Local recording artists such as Ninja Cutty, Bento, LOCtight, Tiny ?T? and Septimus will perform and the public can expect a non-stop programme of rap, poetry, dance and martial arts. There will also be an open mic competition with cash prizes of up to $100.
?Young United has done a great job organising this year?s event and have included a variety of youth and community groups to showcase local talent,? Sen. Spence-Farmer said.
?The Kite Festival promises a little something for everybody, from a performance by the Gombeys and a limbo show for tourists, to our kite competition for those creative artists out there and we also have face painting, food and fun,? Sen. Spence Farmer said.
There will also be a fashion show of locally offered summer outfits.
The event will run until 4 p.m., weather permitting. A rain date for the event has been scheduled for Saturday, April 15.
