Hot dog eaters on a roll!
Some people have their hands full with life's little challenges but Raymond Walker had his mouth full when he won a hot dog eating contest at a community fun day at Shelly Bay Field at the weekend.
Mr. Walker, who ate four hot dogs in three minutes, pocketed a $350 travel voucher for his hot dog eating efforts. Zahara Jabbar was runner-up after eating three hot dogs in three minutes.
The event was sponsored by the Winky Dinky Hot Dog Company, with owners Leroy Turini and Carlos Lopes donating part of the proceeds to Agape House.
Winky Dinky hot dogs are celebrated their one year anniversary with the contest on Saturday. In July winky dinky dogs will be available for sale in Hamilton.
Walker's victory was a far cry from champion hot dog eater Takeru Kobayashi of Japan. Mr. Kobayashi last year achieved an unprecedented fourth victory at the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest, setting a new world record of 53.5 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes.
