The Pompano Beach Hotel will be closing later this year so that major renovations can take place.

The Southampton resort will be adding 16 new guest units to the property. The new units will consist of two buildings, with eight rooms in each and represent just the first stage of a major expansion project. Other plans on the 14-acre site include an ocean front restaurant, a new kitchen, a spa addition, a redesigned pool deck and Jacuzzis.

The resort will close its doors in November and while not all plans have been approved, the renovations are expected to be complete by early March, 2006.
