A mother of three caused hundreds of dollars worth of damage to her boyfriend's apartment after going on a drinks binge.

And Tianna Simmons, 35, of Ridgeway Road, found herself in more trouble after she assaulted Police officers who had been called to the disturbance on Khyber Heights Road, Warwick in the early hours of Wednesday morning. She also offered them crack, claiming she was "a crack head".

Even after being arrested Simmons continued to spit and curse at the officers and kicked the windows and doors of the patrol car as she was escorted to Hamilton Police Station.

Simmons initially appeared in court on Wednesday morning after it was discovered that she had not paid fines for previous, unrelated offences. But that matter was adjourned after she claimed that she "was unable to stand".

Brought before the court again on Thursday, Simmons initially pleaded not guilty to two charges of assaulting a Police officer and another charge of damaging property in a house.

"I plead not guilty because I don't recall the incident - I was drinking," she told Magistrate Ed King.

But after consulting with defence lawyer Arnold Todd, she changed her pleas to guilty.

The court heard how Simmons, who has a previous conviction for assaulting a Police officer, had just returned to the Island after three months in Canada.

In mitigation, Mr. Todd said: "Simmons is deeply apologetic, the problem stemmed from having to much to drink.

Sometimes when we get drunk we say things we don't mean."

Simmons was ordered to pay $1,000 for the assault charges and another $695 for damages done to the apartment.

She was then remanded back into custody until all fines were paid and ordered to submit her passport to a prison officer.
