Islanders want third party, poll shows
A plurality of respondents to an online poll believe Bermuda should have a third party.
In the wake of plans by activist Khalid Wasi to form a party called the All Bermuda Congress and by Mitchell Watson to form the Bermuda People?s Party, users of the www.theroyalgazette.com were asked if Bermuda should have a third party. Almost 50 percent, or 47.9 percent, said yes, while 26.5 percent said no. And 18.3 percent said all political parties should be banned while 7.3 percent said they did not know. A total of 317 users responded to the unscientific poll, which ran from Saturday until yesterday.
