It?s march madness, says UBP

Opposition Senator Bob Richards yesterday mocked ministers who marched on their own Government over the housing issue. He said Terry and Walter Lister and Patrice Minors all joined the demonstration which converged on Cabinet office on Tuesday to protest about the lack of affordable housing.

Sen. Richards said: ?You could maybe interpret it as the height of hypocrisy, ministers wanting to have it both ways.?

He said if the trio felt Government was to blame they could not remain in Cabinet.

Sen. Richards wondered if the Premier had lost all control if his own colleagues were protesting against Government of which they were part of.

?It think it is highly strange. We live in strange times, that is an example of strange times indeed.? However Government Senators said the march was a protest against Government but housing was a problem throughout the community.

Senate leader Larry Mussenden said ministers who mingled with marchers had been given the blessing of the full Cabinet.
