Jamaican charged with drug importation

A Jamaican national living in Canada has appeared in Magistrates? Court on cocaine importation charges.

Leonard Wynter, 41, of Ontario, was charged with importing 55 pallets of cocaine and also for being in possession of the same drug, on December 23, at the Bermuda International Airport.

Wynter was not required to enter plea as the matter is indictable and will be dealt with in the Supreme Court.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves said: ?It?s just a matter of bail or jail.?

The defendant was remanded in custody and will appear for mention via video link on January 14.
