A new Clinical Services chief operating officer has been appointed at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Kathy-Ann Lewis, whose previous post was Continuing Care programme manager, moved up in November after 14 years with KEMH in a variety of capacities.

Ms Lewis started in surgical wards, operating room, medical wards and St. Brendan's Hospital before her promotion to Assistant Unit Coordinator in Extended Care Lower, a post she held for five years.

She was moved to Memorial Ward as unit coordinator and appointed to programme manager in 1998.

Ms Lewis obtained her nursing diploma from Fanshawe College in Ontario, Canada in 1982 and completed her Bachelors at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada in 1986.

She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts (Management) degree from Webster's University, in Bermuda.
