An American lawyer on gun possession charges appeared briefly at Magistrates' Court yesterday, when his case was adjourned for a week.
Gary Barket, 61, from Arkansas, who is charged with possessing two guns and ammunition, was told to reappear at the court the following Friday for a preliminary inquiry.
A previous court hearing was told Barket was travelling from Bermuda to Newark when he was screened at L.F. Wade International Airport and a .32 Revolver, 6.35mm semi-automatic and four rounds of ammunition were allegedly discovered in his garment bag.
He has not entered a plea as the case will be heard by the Supreme Court. He is on $100,000 bail plus one surety and must report to Hamilton Police Station daily.
