Packages posted to Bermuda from the UK four and five months ago have finally arrived by ship in Bermuda.

A release sent by the the Bermuda Post Office on Friday said it wanted to advise the general public that it "recently received a small shipment of "surface" letter mail from the UK".

"Customers receiving this mail will notice that it was posted in the UK between January and February 2006," it said. "The Post Office wishes to point out that although surface mail to Bermuda is usually perceived as a delayed shipment, its late arrival is purely because it has been sent to sea."

The Post Office said it would arrange for delivery of this mail as soon as possible.
