Four men accused of murder and a Cabinet Minister's son appeared in Supreme Court yesterday for the monthly arraignment session.

Also, the man accused of murdering mother-of-three Chena Danette Trott in August last year in Hamilton Parish also made an appearance before Chief Justice Austin Ward to plead to her stabbing death.

George (Messy) MacDonald Liburd, 30, of Pembroke, will go to trial on September 3 this year.

And Robert Blair Tucker, 35, of Astwood Close, Pembroke, James Alan (Spooks) Dill, 56, also of Astwood Close, and Terranz Sydney (Monster) Smith, 34, of Somerset Road, Sandys, appeared charged with the murder of American visitor Stanley Lee in the summer of 2001, whose decaying body was found near to Lagoon Park in Somerset They will reappear for mention on May 1 to confirm their trial date. The trio have denied the charges.

Meanwhile, the son of Health Minister Nelson Bascome, Nelson Coleridge Vernon Bascome Jr., 23, of Friswells Hill, Pembroke, denied importing cannabis into the Island just before Christmas, and being in possession of a controlled drug, which was intended for supply. He is to return to the court on June 2 for mention.

Ex-Police officer Clifford Stanley Roberts, 33, of Devonshire, pleaded not guilty to five counts of conspiring to import, and to importing controlled drugs. He will go on trial on June 2.

Also appearing was Rashad David George Cooper, 20, of Fentons Drive, Pembroke, who pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm and to being in possession of an offensive weapon. The matter will be mentioned again in the June arraignment session.

Former Bermuda Housing Corporation worker Dana Edward Martin, 43, of Home Port Drive, Hamilton Parish, appeared for mention. He is charged with inducing more than $100,000 out of unsuspecting investors from April 1 to September 14 in 1999.

Kimani Llewellyn Fubler, 27, Shaki Kenyatta Weeks, 24, and Kuma Kenie Smith, 26, all faced charges of burglary and unlawful wounding, and three counts of possession of offensive weapons - a baseball bat and two machetes. The trio were accused of breaking into a Friswell's Hill home on December 9. Fubler was released on bail, and the other two were remanded in custody. The matter was set down for mention on May 1.

Two Dutch women on charges of importing cocaine into the Island appeared for mention yesterday. Esmeralda Noordhoek, 29, and Miryam Van Der Stel, 22, both from Rotterdam, Holland, pleaded not guilty to importing a controlled drug and possession with intent to supply.

Garsha Andre Daley, 28, a Jamaican living on Scott's Hill Road, Sandys, and Jamaican Kesha Mackeba James, 26, who does not live on the Island, were remanded in custody until May 1 for importation of cocaine on October 26. They have denied the charges.

And Jamaican Michelle Elizabeth Brown, 30, pleaded guilty to importing the cocaine on October 26 of last year. Brown will be sentenced on April 22, and will assist the Crown in the case against Daley and James.

British resident Valerie Patricia Grant, 25, of Birmingham, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with intent to supply. She will be sentenced on April 21.
