It?s a sign that summer is drawing to a close after lifeguard duties at three popular beaches ended yesterday.

Lifeguards will no longer be on duty at John Smith?s Bay, Clearwater Beach and Turtle Beach until the summer season starts next year.

The Island?s most popular beach, Horseshoe Bay, will continue to be manned by a lifeguard seven days a week from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. until October 31.
