United Bermuda Party MP Suzann Holshouser?s brother will be sent to Supreme Court to face multiple weapons possession charges.

Yesterday in Magistrates? Court Ernest J. Roberts, 58, of Knapton Hill, Smith?s was charged with five indictable counts of weapons possession. The weapons allegedly found on April 22 consisted of a Wrisk Rocket sling shot, a Crossman 357.177 calibre pellet gun, a Gammo P-23 Air Pistol, an Olin 12 gauge signal flare launcher, and two 12 gauge flares.

Crown counsel Anthony Blackman told the court that the charges carry a five year minimum prison sentence.

Mr. Blackman objected to bail but said: ?If your Worship decides to grant bail we asked for a minimum of $20,000 with two sureties. We also ask the defendant reports to the nearest Police Station and submits all travel documents today. We must also make sure he does not interfere with any of the witnesses.?

Defence lawyer Peter Farge was standing in for Mark Pettingill who represents Roberts, an aviation operations officer at the Bermuda International Airport.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves set bail at $5,000 with one surety and ordered Roberts to surrender all travel documents. A mention date was set for May 12.

Roberts thanked Mr. Greaves for granting bail.
