Maj. Wayne Smith to be Govt. security officer

Government has appointed a new security chief in the Ministry of Home Affairs.Wayne Smith, a former Aide-de-Camp to the Governor and an experienced member of the Bermuda Regiment, will be the new co-ordinator of security services.Before his appointment, Mr. Smith served as executive director with the Bermuda Alliance for Tourism.

Wayne Smith, a former Aide-de-Camp to the Governor and an experienced member of the Bermuda Regiment, will be the new co-ordinator of security services.

Before his appointment, Mr. Smith served as executive director with the Bermuda Alliance for Tourism.

As well as jobs in banking and wireless technology, Mr. Smith was a sports production manager in the Department of Tourism between 1992 to 1998.

He currently holds the rank of Major and serves as public relations officer for the Regiment.
