The arraignments session yesterday in Supreme Court featured defendants accused of sex, drugs, attempted murder and other forms of assault.

Several of the defendants pleaded guilty to their crimes and others chose to plead not guilty and had trial dates set.

Brandon Barnes Brockett, 19, of Farm Lane Lower, Warwick, was charged with attempted murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Brockett pleaded not guilty to to both charges and will return for mention on August 4.

The man accused of the attempted murder of American tourist, Scott Jable, will go to trial on November 17.

Lorenzo Prince Robinson, 24, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody.

Kofi Omahr Dill, 23, of Eastgate Lane, Pembroke, who was charged with the manslaughter of Frederick John Goring, will return to the Supreme Court for trial on November 4.

A Somerset man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to three charges of unlawful carnal knowledge with two girls under the age of 14 and also for sexually assaulting another female.

The case was adjourned for mention on August 4.

Meanwhile, the son of Health Minister Nelson Bascome, Nelson Coleridge Vernon Bascome Jr., 23, of Friswell's Hill, Pembroke, will return to the Supreme Court on September 15 for trial.

He is charged with importing cannabis into the Island just before Christmas, and being in possession of a controlled drug, which was intended for supply.

A 25-year-old Pembroke resident, Kaream Gibbons, pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and wilful damage of property.

Gibbons, of Rambling Lane, will return for mention on August 4.

Another man, Gregory Millington Johnson, was charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

Johnson, 19, of Talavera Lane, St. George's pleaded guilty to both charges and will be sentenced on June 19.

Meanwhile, Perry Mosley Puckerin, 47, of Footbridge Lane, St. Monica's Road, Stanley Lalwrence Gibbons, 44, of Somersaul Road, Smith's, and Antonio Dudley Myers all pleaded not guilty to being in possession of controlled drugs.

The trio were all charged separately in unrelated incidents, but Puckerin and Gibbons return for mention on August 4, and Myers' case will be heard on September 6.

Ex-Police officer Clifford Stanley Roberts, 33, of Devonshire, will return for mention on July 1.

Roberts had pleaded not guilty to five counts of conspiring to import and to importing controlled drugs.

Kenneth Kevin Boyles, 24, of Cambridge Road, Sandys, will return to court for a pre-sentencing report in the next arraignments session on July 1.

A pair of Jamaican nationals face a lengthy jail sentence after admitting to importing more than $1.8 million of heroin.

Both of Montego Bay, Andrew Nathaniel Hall, 38, and Barris Dawkins (aka Rudolph Everton Pusey), 46, will re-appear at the next arraignment session on July 1.

Three Pembroke men ranging in age from 21 to 28 will go to trial on November 4.

Shannon O'Brien Tuzo, 28, of Marsh Lane, Shaki Eugene Crockwell, 23, of Happy Valley Road, and Raymond Winslow Burgess, 21, of Hurst Crescent, denied charges of assault, causing grievous bodily harm and unlawful wounding.

A former Bermuda Housing Corporation worker, Dana Edward Martin, 43, of Home Port Drive, Hamilton Parish, will appear for mention on July 1.

In the last arraignment session Martin had pleaded guilty to defrauding unsuspecting investors of $158,500.
