Man admits stealing copies of the Gazette

A thief with a fondness for chocolate milk and The Royal Gazette is awaiting the results of a social inquiry report and a BARC assessment after admitting yesterday to going on a crime spree outside the Lemon Tree Caf?.

Vincent McDonald Pitt, 52, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty in Magistrates? Court yesterday to five charges. Pitt stole newspapers, several half gallons of milk and pints of chocolate milk, croissants and chocolate muffins throughout the month of February. He was caught after a stake-out by Police.

Pitt was bailed for $1,000 with a surety, and will reappear in court for sentencing on April 12, after the social inquiry report and Bermuda Assessment Referral Centre (BARC) reports are completed. ?I had a few drinks,? he told Senior Magistrate Archie Warner. ?I?ve been trying to get help for drinking. When I have a few too many drinks sometimes I do things out of the blue.?
