A man was knocked unconscious and had to be taken to hospital after a fight in St. George's involving more than 20 youths in the early hours of Friday morning.

A Police spokesman said that officers attempting to break up the 2.30 a.m. fight outside the Wharf Tavern in St. George's saw one man get hit in the back of the head and lose consciousness.

"The fight eventually dissipated and an ambulance came to take the youth to the hospital, where he recovered and was released," the spokesman said.
