A Pembroke man pleaded not guilty to possession of a nine-millimetre handgun and nine bullets in Supreme Court yesterday.

Albert Eugene Alexander Allen, 36, was also charged with possession of cannabis, diamorphine, and a scale for used for weighing drugs. He pleaded not guilty to those charges.

All of the offences allegedly took place on December 12 last year.

Represented by Richard Hector, Allen will reappear in court for mention on May 1. Acting Chief Justice Norma Wade-Miller remanded him in custody until then.

Three other Pembroke men were also charged with possession of offensive weapons in the arraignments session yesterday.

Kimani Llewellyn Fubler, 27, Shaki Kenyatta Weeks, 24, and Kuma Kenie Smith, 26, all faced five charges of burglary, unlawful wounding, and three counts of possession of offensive weapons, said to be a baseball bat and two machetes.

The trio are accused of breaking into a Friswell's Hill home on December 9.

Smith is represented by lawyer Larry Mussenden, Fubler by Richard Horseman, and Weeks by Mark Pettingill.

Due to judicial review proceedings put into action by Fubler, none of the three were required to enter any pleas, and the matter was set down for mention on April 1. The trio were remanded until that time.

Also charged with possession of a weapon was 18-year old Javon Weeks of Hamilton Parish.

Weeks pleaded not guilty to charges of wounding with intent and possession of a machete on December 12 of last year.

Released on bail, he is represented by Mark Pettingill, and will reappear in court on May 1 for mention.
