A man was sentenced to three months in prison in Magistrates' Court for defying management's orders to leave St. David's Cricket Club on March 29.

When Robert Alberto Lee Pitcher, of Great Bay Road, St. David's refused to leave, Police were called to the scene and as he was being removed, he resisted arrest.

St. David's Cricket Club had previously had a restraining order in place banning Pitcher, 28, from the club for five years, but Pitcher complained: "The time has already gone, it has now been seven years."

Crown counsel Wayne Caines reminded the court that the charge was not about the restraining order but about his refusal to leave when asked and for resisting arrest.

Mr. Caines asked the court for a custodial sentence after referring to Pitcher's past offences.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves told Pitcher: "You obviously don't know how to act in the east, so I am sentencing you to three months west."
